Becoming an MCDL Official
To be certified to be a JUDGE for an MCDL summer dive meet you must:
- Complete the NFHS online training by doing the following:
- Navigate to www.nfhslearn.com and create a free account
- Once logged in to your account, select “Officials” along the top vertical menu entitled,
“Courses For”
- Scroll down to locate the course entitled, “Judging Springboard Diving”. While hovering
over the course, a “Start Learning” button will appear. Click on that “Start Learning”
button.
- When you are ready to take the course, from your dashboard select “My Courses” and
click on “Start Course”, “Continue Course” or “Complete Course”. This selection
depends on how much of the course you have completed.
- When you have completed the course, download your certificate. This can be found on
your dashboard under “My Certificates”. Use the following Google Form to submit your
certificate to MCDL here
- Attend an MCDL Judge in-person training
- Dates for pool-side judge training will be announced in May of each season.
- Please bring your certificate to the training. The online training must be completed prior
to attending the MCDL pool-side training.
- This training will focus on analyzing live diving and MCDL specific rules and will
typically last 90 minutes.
- Repeat this process every three years to keep your certification active.
To be certified to be a REFEREE for an MCDL summer dive meet you must:
- Be a certified MCDL Judge who has judged MCDL meets for one year
- Attend an MCDL Referee recertification training online or in-person
- Repeat this process every three years to keep your certification active.
