Dual Meets are usually on Sundays with warm ups starting at 4pm and lasting until 9 pm. Club practice times vary by pool, but usually have morning and afternoon practice hours Monday – Friday.
Pools look for Candidates with:
Little Falls Swimming Club located at 5205 Little Falls Drive, Bethesda, MD, is looking to hire a Co-Head Coach for their 2026 summer Dive Team.
The season begins in mid-June and runs through the end of July. Practices are generally held in the morning and evening (but we are willing to be flexible on practice times as long as it works with the Club).
The Co-Heads Dive Coaches will report to the Club Manager, Lighthouse Pools, and will work collaboratively with the Little Falls Dive Representatives and other parent volunteers to ensure a fun and safe experience for dive team members.
Co-Head Dive Coach Responsibilities:
● Develop diver skills in a fun and safe environment.
● Attend team activities including practices, dive meets, pep rallies, and other team-related activities.
● Prepare divers and dive sheets for all Dual, Invitation, Divisional, and All-Start meets.
● Coordinate with the dive representative, Lighthouse management, and parent volunteers.
● Manage coaching staff including developing weekly schedules and tracking hours worked.
● Be a role model for assistant coaches, coaches in training, and young divers.
Qualifications:
The Co-Head Dive Coaches must have the following certifications before the start of the season. Certifications must be current and active at the time of employment:
● Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
● Successful completion of USA Swimming’s Athlete Protection Online Training Course
● MCDL Coaching Clinic attendance in May/June
The Co-Head Dive Coaches are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a diving coach.
Compensation:
Little Falls Swimming Club pays a competitive salary that corresponds with experience. The salary will be divided across regular club pay periods with the applicable portion paid every two weeks. The Head Coaches can also offer private lessons to interested divers.

North Chevy Chase (NCC) Pool (“the NCC Sharx”) - located at 8817 Brierly Road, Chevy Chase, MD 20815 - is seeking a passionate and experienced individual to be Head Dive Coach for the summer 2026 dive season, during which the NCC Sharx will be competing in Division 1. The Head Coach will play a vital role in developing and mentoring our divers, fostering a positive and competitive team environment, managing a coaching staff, and ensuring the safety of all participants.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Head Dive Coach will lead a coaching staff for 45-55 divers. The MCDL dive season runs from Tuesday, May 26 through the end of July. Time commitments include:
➢ Monday-Friday coaching one-hour dive practices from 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM and 5:45PM - 6:45 PM (arrival 10 minutes prior to practice).*
➢ Monday-Friday coaching dive practices from 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM**
➢ Sunday coaching dual meets from 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM (June 14 - July 12).
➢ Coaching dive divisionals July 19 as well as the Robin Hood Invitational and All-Star Meets (July dates TBD).
➢ Attending a couple of preparatory meetings in April and May prior to the start of the dive season (days/times to be determined jointly).
* Note that Wednesday afternoon practices are not held when our pool hosts a home swim meet.
** Please note that morning practices would commence on June 18 after the MCPS school year ends on June 17. Please also note that the
Dive Representatives are willing to work with the Head Coach to determine additional, optimal practice times beyond the 4:30 PM - 6:45 PM Monday through Friday afternoon time commitment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Engage divers to promote team spirit and cohesiveness and set a positive tone emphasizing safety, fun, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
● Provide team leadership, including managing a coaching staff of 1-2 assistant coaches and 1-2 junior coaches.
● Develop training plans based on a sequence of skills and focus for each week, ensuring practice times are efficiently managed.
● Assess individual diver progress and make positive, constructive feedback for improvement.
● Motivate and inspire divers to achieve their full potential, fostering a supportive and encouraging team atmosphere.
● Ensure the safety of all divers by enforcing safety rules and regulations, and maintaining an overall safe diving environment.
● Support the organization and execution of dive meets and competitions, assisting with creating team line ups and dive sheets, and posting team line-up 2-3 days prior to each meet.
● Liaise with the Dive Team Representatives - Laurie Manfreda and Dana Peterson.
● Communicate consistently and clearly with dive team members, coaching staff, NCCSPA pool staff, parents, and team reps.
● Attend team social events (i.e. trivia night, pep rallies).***
● Work with coaching staff and team reps to prepare all diver awards for end-of-season banquet (July 18 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM).
*** Dates to be determined in concert with Head Dive Coach.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Proven experience as a dive coach, preferably with experience coaching divers of various skill levels, including young and beginning divers.
● Strong knowledge of diving techniques, rules, and safety regulations. Knowledge of MCDL summer dive regulations is strongly preferred.
● Knowledge of the proper sequence of dive skill acquisition.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
● Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
● By the start of employment:
○ Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Water Safety.
○ Completion of MCDL Coaching Clinic in May/June 2026
○ Successful completion of USA Swimming’s Athlete Protection Online Training Course Additional Information:

Flower Valley Dive Team is seeking a head dive coach as well as assistant coaches for the 2026 summer season. The ideal candidate would have prior dive coaching experience and enjoy working with kids of a variety of ages and diving abilities. Prior participation in a recreational or competitive dive team is desired. Knowledge of the proper sequence of dive skill acquisition is a requirement. Good team management and organizational skills are necessary as is a desire to help every diver progress to the best of their potential and have fun.
Responsibilities include:
· Provide daily dive instruction appropriate to several different levels of divers.
· Work with dive team representatives and assistant coaches.
· Coach at all dive meets including Rookie Meet (June), Divisionals, All-Stars, and Robin Hood Invitational (all in July).
· Attend all social events and planning meetings.
· Help create an atmosphere of team-spirited fun for all ages.
· Be a role model for assistant coaches, coaches in training and young divers.
· Other team duties as needed specific to Summer Dive Season 2024.
Practices are typically:
· Monday -Friday 4:30-6:30 pm until public schools are closed for summer, and then
· Tuesday-Friday mornings from 9:00 - 11:00 am and Mondays-Fridays 4:00 - 6:00 pm; Wednesday afternoon practices are not held when our pool hosts a home swim meet.
· Some flexibility on times of practices may be considered as long as it meets the pool schedule of the Flower Valley Bath and Racquet Club and swim team schedules.

Old Georgetown Swim and Dive Club is searching for a Head Diving Coach for the 2026 MCDL Summer Season. We are located in Bethesda near the intersection of Fernwood Road and Democracy Blvd.
Our dive team ranges in age from 6-18 with skill levels from beginner to all-star competing in Division II.
Season begins at the end of May and ends the last week in July.
Qualifications:
Experienced coach who is enthusiastic and committed to developing diver skills in a safe and fun environment
Previous coaching experience
Interest in creating a spirit-filled team in cooperation with the pool's swim team
Certified Lifeguard Preferred
Responsibilities Include:
Attending a MCDL Coaching Clinic offered in May and early June.
Helping prep for and coaching at Dual, Divisional, and All-Star meets
Coaching at morning and afternoon practices
Helping with combined swim/dive team Friday Spirit Nights and end of season celebration
Salary VERY competitive depending on experience.
We generally have practices in the morning and afternoon, coordinating our schedule with swim team practices. Most meets are held on Sunday at 4 pm.
